Maribel began her counseling career in family ministries at CEFAM and continued to complete her MA Theological Studies, major in Family Ministries, from Ateneo de Manila Univeristy.
Maribel gave birth to their lovely daughter, Angelica in 1993. During this time, Maribel was counseling Marital, Pre-marital and Family Cases. She also was giving talks on Parenting. She
was an active Marriage Counselor at CEFAM for over 10 years, when she
moved to the Center for Health and Creative Arts (CHACRA), also as a
Marriage Counselor.

She is also a Parenting Consultant and Columnist for the Metro Working Mom Magazine. She has been an active Parent Representative for her sons class at Ateneo. In March 2003, she helped organize the 1st Ateneo Family Congress for the Grade School and High School Parents. In August 2004, she launched her first book, co-authored with Dr. Queena Lee Chua, entitled, “Helping
our Children do Well in School” (10 Successful strategies from the
Parents Best Practices Study of the Ateneo de Manila High School). This book received the National Book Award in 2005. Maribel co-authors with Dr. Mike Asis a second book (Anvil 2006) “I’ve

Occasionally their children join them in talks, as added resource persons. Both parents of Allan and Maribel were very involved in the Family Ministry – the Christian Family Movement (Poning & Valing Dionisio; Sito & Sony Sison).
